Sunset Fisherman on the Rocks

This painting started as a commission from a photograph—one of those moments you know you need to preserve. A group of fishermen, standing resolute against the rocky backdrop of Hermanus’ Cape of Storms, bathed in the golden light of sunset. I worked with high-quality oils on stretched canvas to capture not just the scene, but the feeling—the stillness, the power of the ocean, the fading warmth of the day.  The original has already found its home, but I wanted to make it accessible to more people who feel connected to this moment.
