Visualisation: Tokai, in Mist, hung at its catalogue size on a pale limewashed wall above a low wooden bench, in soft morning light.

Commissions welcomed.

A painting made for a wall you have in mind. I paint it in my studio in Pearly Beach.

Visualisation · Tokai, in Mist, at true size

Every commission belongs to a particular place, perhaps the wall above a fireplace or the end of a hallway. We talk about that space and its light, and how you would like the room to feel.

My paintings move between the sea, forests, fields, flowers and abstract colour. A commission can grow from any of them, or from a painting that now lives in a private collection.

Once we have talked about size and timing, I send you a quote.

How it works.

  1. Step 1: A conversation

Tell me where the painting will hang and how the light falls there, with a photograph or two if you can.

  2. Step 2: A proposal

I suggest a size and a palette, with a quote. The payment terms are set out in writing with the proposal.

  3. Step 3: The painting

I paint, and keep you up to date on its progress by email or WhatsApp.

  4. Step 4: To its wall

Once the painting is paid in full, I send it within South Africa, with delivery quoted personally. Or you can collect it in Constantia, Cape Town, at no charge.

Works in this spirit.

Questions

Can I see your work in person first?

Yes. I can arrange a viewing before you decide. Write to me, and we will find a time.

Can a commission be returned?

A commission follows your own brief, so the seven-day return does not apply to it. It becomes final once work begins, except where the law gives you a right we cannot exclude. I share its progress with you by email or WhatsApp as I work.

How long does a commission take?

Each painting takes its own time, so there is no set length. If you have a date in mind, mention it in the brief and we can talk it through.
